It's October, again! The time of the year when all the assignments are due and most importantly, it's the Boyfriend's Birthday!! I love to surprise the boyfriend with crazy ideas and I do it whenever I'm free(which is quite often) HAHA. Last year, I chanced upon Colormekatie's blog and I really liked the way she made simple paper cutouts look so good. And since I was a little tight on my budget, I thought maybe I should just go ahead to do it.
When the boyfriend was in school, I sneaked back into his room in the hostel and started pasting paper hearts all over the wall. Gosh, it was tedious cause I am a crazy OCD freak! Cutting the hearts was comparatively easier as I had a template and I cut them in batches. So after some crazy pasting, this was the end results...
So happy and colourful rite? I was really proud of my awesome paper hearts project. But knowing that there was another empty wall in the room, I did something really crazy again.
'Up'-inspired Paper Balloons!!
So I waited... and waited for the boyfriend to get back from class and TA-DAH! I think he was really impressed :D Since he was back, we played around with the camera and camwhored with my awesome wall art. I was too tired from all the preparation so I avoided taking too many photos.
MY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOY!
I was really tired by the end of the day cause we had simple cookout in Hall too! As the boyfriend's birthday was on a weekday, which happened to be our "Hell Week" with a few tests and assignments due, we did away with a fanciful dinner and cooked by ourselves instead!
Home-cooked Beef Bolognese, German Sausage and Mushroom Soup!
The highlight of our meal WAS supposed to be these awesome pan-fried scallops which failed terribly cause I AM A LOUSY COOK. ): We ended up throwing away the scallops as it tasted really horrible and since then... I kinda told myself maybe I'm not cut out for the kitchen after all.
These were the super cute cupcakes I ordered from
Super Desserts Market!! We had a pair of penguin plushies which were really cute so I got the shop to duplicate them in the form of frostings on the cupcakes!
A birthday is not completed without a birthday card!
